The Australian Taxation Office says it will continue to accept credit card payments on tax bills until June 2027. Earlier this month, the tax office had announced it was banning credit card payments from December 2026 - a decision that sparked criticism from some small business owners and industry groups. Two Australian productions have won awards at the 2026 Japan Prize, an international competition organised by NHK. One of them is the animated series Tales From Outer Suburbia: Moonfish. Lion's Head is a traditional Chinese dish believed to have originated in the Shanghai and Yangzhou regions. Its name comes from the large pork meatballs, which resemble the size of a lion's head. Since 1972, Canberra-based tanka poet Saeko Ogi (95) has made her home in Australia’s capital. A woodblock print exhibition inspired by her tanka poetry is celebrating her long creative career. Alongside the exhibition, Canberra is also hosting major seasonal events including Floriade and the Canberra Nara Candle Festival.
